Ü-label for Vacupor NT-B2

After the German Institut for civil engineering (DIBT) has granted the general approval by the building authorities for Vacupor NT-B2 under the certification number Z-23.11-1662, now the Ü-label for the external quality control is available as well.

On July 7th, 2008 the FIW issued  the certificate of conformity with the number Z1-247.0-01-01/2008.
It was confirmed, that according to the results of production control of the manufacturer and the external control by the FIW, Vacupor NT-B2 comply with  the provisions of the general approval of the building authorities.

Vacupor® NT-B2 is a modified version of our standard VIP Vacupor® NT. The particularly developed high-barrier film for this type conforms to Baustoffklasse (building material class) B2.
The test of behaviour in case of fire according DIN 4102-1, May 1998, Baustoffklasse B2; Testcertificate No. H.4- 108/04 and H.4-109/04, was made and issued by the FIW - Forschungsinstitut für Wärmeschutz e.V. München.
Vacupor® NT-B2 (core material) is not flammable and meets the requirements of DIN ISO 4102 part 1, class A1. The successful B2-approval was the basic condition for the DIBT permission.

After the development of a suitable test plan by the DIBT, various sample panels had to run through a set of hardest tests, over a period of three years.
The approval was given, not until a successful completion of all tests, With this DIBT permission, it is the first time that an approval for VIPs is issued for the building sector.
Architects and planners now have the opportunity to plan buildings with these innovative insulation, based on conclusive data.

Completion- and extension-requests for further areas of application are in work already.
Hence Vacupor® VIPs should be used in a even wider range of building applications in the near future.
